An exploration of the universal highs and lows of life as one reaches for the proverbial brass ring.
WITH MUSICAL DIRECTOR, Paul Hamilton
BASS, Steve Varner
Cindy is thrilled to be making her first appearance at Dino’s Backstage. She debuted her solo cabaret show Brass Ring in Chicago as part of the Andrew Lidgus Salon Series and looks forward to taking it to New York next spring. A Conshohocken native, and the daughter of an opera singer and a jazz saxophonist, Cindy was predestined to a life filled with music. Armed with a theatre degree and an Equity card, she headed to NYC to tread the boards. It was there she succumbed to the seduction of opera, appearing on stage with orchestras from Poughkeepsie to Peru.
Upon moving to the Windy City, Cindy founded Hush, dedicated to creating intimate cabaret evenings showcasing everything from abridged operas to revues of the Great American Songbook, always with a unique perspective. Critics agreed it was nothing to keep quiet about! She has had the pleasure of appearing at Davenport’s in Chicago, as well as Jazz at the Bistro and KDHX Stage in St. Louis. This summer, and last, she was invited to participate in the acclaimed St. Louis Cabaret Conference where she was mentored by such luminaries as Faith Prince, Marilyn Maye, Karen Mason, and Ann Hampton Callaway.
