Eddie Bruce is a natural performer – he always has been! A passionate fan of jazz standards, especially the music of Tony Bennett, it’s no surprise that he has become one of the nation’s foremost interpreters of Bennett’s music. His shows include songs written by such legendary composers and lyricists as Sammy Cahn and Johnny Mercer and in addition to the music sung by Bennett, he sings the music made popular by Anthony Newley, Sammy Davis, Jr, Frank Sinatra and many others. What makes Eddie’s performances stand out is his engaging style. Ask Michael Feinstein who said after a recent Feinstein’s performance in New York, “Eddie Bruce has a wonderful voice. And, his stage presence, tone and breath control are just as good.”
Singing and performing all his life, Eddie began in the media as a child-star in Philadelphia, going on to become one of the region’s most popular bandleaders and masters of ceremonies. Never one to shy away from the media, Eddie was a radio talk- show host for many years on WWDB-FM and the original host of “Dancin’ on Air,” a popular TV show in the 80’s. He was seen repeatedly this past year hosting the reunion shows of “Dancin’ on Air” on Channel 17, WPHL-TV.
